The Youth Agency for Development of Science, Technology and Innovation (YADSTI) is an initiative of young scientists whose goal is to promote Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) as a tool for development. It seeks to create purpose-driven networks and linkages with stakeholders in STI, institutions of higher learning and communities through education, research and application of STI on specific challenges facing Kenyans. The Agency was founded in 2004 by science students in the University of Nairobi. It was later registered as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 2007 under Section 10 of the NGOs Coordination Act of Kenyan Laws and issued with a certificate no. OP.218/051/2006/0562/4512. The NGO was dormant until September 2011 when a group of fresh graduates from the University of Nairobi led by the Founding Executive Director embarked on revamping the NGO in a spirit of job creation, youth empowerment and capacity building in STI.
